Kamille, as she prefers to be called, is a Belizean conservation practitioner with over ten years’ experience. She is currently working with the WCS Belize Program as the Technical Coordinator, Counter Wildlife Trafficking (CWT). In this post, she works alongside government and NGO partners to combat the growing illegal wildlife trade through various interventions including policy, technology, building national capacity, community engagement and national and regional collaboration. Over her career, Kamille has also been able to contribute to conservation policy, development (fundraising), compliance, landscape scale conservation and leadership and management. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Belize and a Master’s Degree in Conservation Leadership from the University of Cambridge. She believes that her experience has allowed her to understand and appreciate the holistic approach Belize applies to conservation. Kamille is grateful to be apart of the GGRC and hopes to shares lessons from her country as well as learn of how global approaches can benefit Belize.
